August Amazing!

10 Aug

We’ve got a couple crackers coming up in August, and we hope to see you there.

First up, everyone’s favourite miserablist party band The Just Joans wanted to play a gig with their good pals the Middle Ones, and how could we say no to that combo?! Anna and Grace are touring with Hallie and the Annies, who play lovely, discordant shimmer-pop. We’re very much looking forward to this intimate gig in a new location—upstairs from McNeill’s bar, tucked away just off Victoria Rd at Torrisdale St.

Fittingly, the following Wednesday, we’ve got Colour Me Wednesday coming up from London. They asked if they could play with a couple of their favourite acts, and handily enough, they’re some of our favourites too! Local singer-songwriter Chrissy Barnacle and Dublin’s own Kate’s Party will fill your ears with sonic delights. This gig’s north of the river, at the Roxy 171.

ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW!!

31 Jan

The All Day-and-a-half-er is almost here!! We’re getting very, very excited and we hope you are too!

We’ve put together a wee guide for those folks who may not know the southside that well. As well as a map and various logistical bits and bobs, the PDF also lists the running order and set times for the two days, so may be of interest even to Shawlands veterans.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Long time no blog

17 Jan

It may seem like we’ve been fairly quiet of late, but we can assure you we’ve been working hard to brighten up your February with our first Pop!South Day-and-a-halfer at The Glad Cafe!

If the dolldrums of the new year are getting you down, come out for some pop sunshine over the second weekend in February. We’ve got a belter of a line-up, with bands playing all day on Sat, and an acoustic half-day on Sunday to ease the hangover away. We’re revealing the last few names of full line-up on Monday, but there are plenty of favourites already. Check out the Facebook event for the list. If you want to know more about the bands, head on over to our post on Last Year’s Girl to read more.

Here’s the poster. Feel free to share!
